EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

Dublin EMS

The city of Dublin took over the ambulance service from Harrell Funeral Home in 1976. Through the years, the service has gone through many changes. The ambulance use to be staffed by Police Officers who were cross-trained as ambulance attendants.

Today, ambulances are staffed by people who are certified by the state of Texas at one of five levels: Emergency Care Attendant (ECA), Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMTB), Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate (EMTI), Paramedic, and Licensed Paramedic.

Dublin EMS is staffed by highly trained EMT-Basics, Advanced EMTs, and EMT-Paramedics/Licensed Paramedics. We maintain ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), AMLS (Advanced Medical Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PHTLS (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support)/CPR/AED for Healthcare Provider, and TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) cards through NAEMT, AHA, and ASHI which are all national/state approved courses mostly provided by AIR EVAC Lifeteam. We stay current with all NIMS (National Incident Management System) training to provide our roll in the structure and control on all emergency incidents. We also hold a seat in RAC (Regional Advisory Council) for trauma system oversight.

Currently, full-time and part-time personnel staff a primary BLS-MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) capable ambulance, with a secondary BLS-MICU ambulance and a sprint truck with BLS/ALS capabilities available as well. Dublin EMS provides service not only to the City of Dublin, but approximately twenty percent of Erath County. We mutual aid with Erath County EMS, Stephenville Fire/EMS, Comanche County EMS, Hamilton EMS, and Eastland County EMS.
